About
Our story begins with three brothers and a city with a rich brewing history. In 2009 Jerrit, Jitze and Remko Vellenga decide that Weesp, the city on the Vecht river, should get its own beer again after 100 years. After a lot of experimentation, that year they started brewing the first thousand liters of beer.

We brewed our beers for a long time in other breweries. That went well, but due to the ever-increasing demand for Wispe, we often had to move to other breweries. The desire to take matters into your own hands increased.

After ten years of brewing, in 2020 we opened our own brewery in the Sint-Laurentiuskerk, in the old center of the fortified city of Weesp. With a view of the copper brewing kettles you can now enjoy all our beautiful beers here.

Bottle 6.5% - Clear brown colour with thin head. It's got a solid malt flavour and touches of chocolate. A bit grassy too.

Dark brown with quick fading head. Strong malty base. Some liquorice and bay leaf. Falls away quickly.

5.8%. Very dark brown with big fluffy head. It has notes of aniseed and bay leaf. Very gassy.

Hazy orange colour with nice bubble cascade and lasting head. The star anise is quite prominent. I also get some clove. Not a flavour profile that I like but is well made with nice mouthfeel.

Bottle 33cl. from Bierkoning @home poured into a teku glass. Hazy deep golden colour, huge frothy off-white head, good retention, heavy lacing. Somewhat restrained aroma, sweet malt, spices & herbs, medicinal notes. Taste medium sweet and slightly bitter, malty, star anise, cinnamon, coriander, gale, cloves, liquorice. Medium body, oily texture, lively carbonation, mild sweetbitter aftertaste, peppery notes, well-balanced, interesting brew, nice.

Bottle at home, dark brown beer, small head. Aroma is malt, sweet, raisins, fruit, caramel. Taste is the same, sweet, malt, caramel, fruit, raisins, light alcohol. nice one.

Bottle at home shared with Laura. Clear dark red-purple color, medium sized off-white to beige head. Aroma is malts, light caramel, leaves, metallic. Flavor is malts, caramalts, malty bitter. Flavors disappear quickly, although the bitterness lingers a bit longer. Quite an alright bock beer though.
