About
Our story begins with three brothers and a city with a rich brewing history. In 2009 Jerrit, Jitze and Remko Vellenga decide that Weesp, the city on the Vecht river, should get its own beer again after 100 years. After a lot of experimentation, that year they started brewing the first thousand liters of beer.

We brewed our beers for a long time in other breweries. That went well, but due to the ever-increasing demand for Wispe, we often had to move to other breweries. The desire to take matters into your own hands increased.

After ten years of brewing, in 2020 we opened our own brewery in the Sint-Laurentiuskerk, in the old center of the fortified city of Weesp. With a view of the copper brewing kettles you can now enjoy all our beautiful beers here.

Bottle 33cl. from a local AH supermarket @home poured into a footed pilsner glass. Clear medium amber colour, tall frothy off-white head, half-way lasting, light lacing. Aroma sweet malts, caramel, overripe apples, spicy notes. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, caramel, burnt caramel, apples, spicy notes. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, malty sweetbitter aftertaste, caramel notes, bit spicy on the tongue at the end, nice.

It’s just a weirdly spiced beer, which would be okay… but its fermented like an amateur homebrew. Why add a bunch if powdered shit and sell it?. Bought from bierkonig ams i think… its a dumper, one in a 500 dumper

The spicy cacao adds a nice dryness and sharp cold brewed coffee like flavour. Pretty good light easy drinking modern twist on a porter. Bier konig ams

33cl Fles, dank Chris! Amber kleur, witte kraag. Erg kruidig, veel gagel, kruidnagel, steranijs, zoethout, caramel, mout, hint van gist, bitterzoet. Lichte body. Ik hou wel van een kruidig bier maar dit is overdaad.
