Bottle at the Rate Beer Awards Festival Bottle Share. Thanks to JulienHuxley for finding me to share. Bright, crisp hops in the nose, along with Belgian yeast, lemon, citrus, dough. Flavor is sweet orange and lemon, crisp malt, creackers. Lightly yeasty, with solid bitterness and great lemony fruit. A great New World Belgian Strong. Glad I finally got to try it. Why can’t more North American brewers do Belgian like this?

100 ml sample. Thanks, bunget! Clear red-brown. Aroma has malt sweetness spicy roots or vegetables (carrots?). Taste: malt sweetness, vegetable spice, warming alcohol. Ok, but bizarre. (backlog 17-JAN-2016)

opalescent golden colour, minimal off-white head; aroma of intensive fruitiness, citruses, malty-caramel sweetness, floral and earthy notes and some minimal alcohol; taste of fruits, citruses, hints of honey, malty sweetness, some spices and signs of alcohol; dry mouthfeel; amazing beer! It was the best masterpiece of a great beer tasting - at least from my side :-) thank you very much, kapusil! :-)

Bouteille 500ml.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 26B). Bottle 50 cl - Batch unknown (bottle on 2013/01/04). AROMA: a complex aroma of toasted bread crust, spicy and clove-like phenols and peppery alcohol, with a malty-sweet background. APPEARANCE: dark ambar color and translucent with slight ruby highlights. average light brown head with good retention. TASTE: predominant malt toasted flavour with maillard products, slight caramel and a hint of chocolate. slight peppery alcohol with a somewhat sweet background. low bitterness with a semi-dry finish. PALATE: medium body with medium-high carbonation. alcohol warmth. OVERALL: a nice canadian Dubbel with more malt notes than esters.
