From tap at La Fine Mousse. Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Aroma is chocolate and light nutty. Caramelish and chocolate, dark roasted, light alcohol presence, light to medium bitterness. Dry and roasted into a bitter finish.

Bottle courtesy of 77ships, thank you! Clear maroon color, flat. Aroma of licorice, tar, black pepper. Taste is pure alcohol, along the lines of Mikkeller Black.

33cl bottle sample @ RBBWG 2013, courtesy of 77ships.

Sampled from bottle @ RBBWG 2013. Black color, small light brown head. Smell malts, lightly roasted malts, lots of alcohol and liquor. Taste has malts but mainly alcohol. Really strong and over the top. Besides the alcohol there’s not much there. So, bad attempt at a black IPA if that was intended, not a very good attempt at a high ABV-beer, but it could be a start to a better, if not a good strong beer. Some work to do though.

19/I/13 -33cl bottle @ RBBWG 2013 - BB: n/a (2013-60) Thanks to 77ships for sharing the bottle!

Clear brown beer, no head. Aroma: caramel, sugary, boozy, mocha, some chocolate. MF: no carbon, medium body, oily texture. Taste: caramel, citric sourness, bitter chocolate, bit hoppy, sugary. Aftertaste: alcohol, nail polish remover, bitter, bit chemical, bitter hops. Pretty bad. And not an ipa. And not a black ipa either. I would describe it as attention whoring. :p

bottle labelled Bière d’Hiver. Cloudy amber-golden colour, mid-sized off-white head. Spicy hop aroma with ginger. Full-bodied, malty base with a yeasty touch and lots of spicy and fiery ginger. Unusual but I rather liked that!

bottle from Saveur-Biere. Cloudy deep amber colour, mid-sized off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruit. Medium-bodied, malty base with a yeasty fruit character - bitter and aromatic hops that add tropical fruit.

bottle from saveur-biere. Hazy orange-golden colour, mid-sized white head. Spicy hop aroma. Medium-bodied, good malt flavours with a yeasty touch and a lot of aromatic hops, bitter and aromatic at the same time - lots of tropical fruit there.

33cl bottle. Drain pour. Opens without your typical hiss, pours flat, no sign of carbonation whatsoever. Smelled like acetone, apple cider with uninspiring fruit notes of possible citrus/orange. Palate was horrible, again flat with a lingering nasty apple profile that appeared a lot more boozier than a 5% beer. Palate remains oily, syrupy which is off for that type of beer. At this point, I am not throwing any more € in this brewery, most of their beers have been disappointing with clear signs of poor bottling and inconsistency between batches.
