Sampled on draft this beer poured a dark brown color with orange highlights and a medium sized creamy beige head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was cola, a bit of vague fruit and a touch of toffee. The flavor was bitter and astringent with faint notes of nut and toffee. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.

750ml bottle [Big Thanks to David fΓΌr dieses Brett!]. Slightly milky, deep orangey, pale copper colour with average, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, sulphureous head. Sour-ish, spicy and fruity aroma, notes of raisin, fig, a touch of mustard seed, hints of vinegar, balsamico. Taste ist moderately tart, has still minimally sweet remnants of caramel malt, a touch of sweet bread, stollen, notes of raisin, fig, spicy hints of matured vinegar, balsamico, hoppy overtones with a touch of orange.

This is not a sweet stout, think imperial stout. Tap bocktwon. Big and black. Nice pour with nice lacing as well. Aroma is boozy and volatile. Yes, barrel is apparent and overriding. Not sure if I detect any oatmeal stout in there but it sure is whiskey flavored. Just a big boozy imoy stout. if I was to guess the alky, I’d say 7%. Stout with a couple of shots added. whew. Not impressed, especially since the bartender said it was a sweet stout, dull surprise.

Bottle: (hand-me-down from shrubber via Weihenweizen....thanks both!) Hazy, slightly greenish/dirty gold with a huge, puffy white head. Orange, grapefruit, pine, wheat aroma. Flavour is sweet....orange malt, pine, orange-pel, wheat malt. Wonderful body and tingly brightness. I could drink these all day.
