Thanks to sirpsycho for this one - shared at Peter’s NY gathering - this is a quality smoked porter - rich smoke and woody flavors behind strong roasted malts - creamy mouthfeel, low carbonation - the smoke isn’t strong, but it works quite well with the roasty dryness - equal parts sweet and mildly tannic in the finish - reminds me very much of CL smoked porter.

Tap @ Bocktown through a banana chips and nutmeg randall. Color is glowing, hazy straw, cannot see through it. Aroma is lightly sticky sweet and sugary. There is a little bit of nutmeg, maybe, just a smidgen. But lots of sweet, light banana esters. Taste is less sharp on the sweet but pretty similar. I feel there is that banana chip character outside the beer but maybe I was imagining it.

Tap @ Bocktown in Pittsburgh. Comes to me completely black, it is thick looking. Aroma is a prune-y thick and some mineral qualities. Taste has a little bit of light chocolate and the mineral part is stronger. There is a little bit of that light watery prune in there as well. Basic comment, it was a very mineral type of stout.

Courtesy of Beerman6686, thanks again Dan. Pours deep dark brown with thin tan head. The aroma is sweet molasses, some burnt malts, a nice level of smokiness, a bit of char and a sense of bacon. The taste starts with a pleasing pulse of smoke and a touch of bacon. It then moves into burnt notes and sweet caramel. Very even smooth flavors leaving burnt malts and modest smoke to linger deep into the after taste.
