From the bottle at my hotel on my last night in the country. Quick tick as I can't pour it into a glass. Resinous and malty aroma. Not bad but not great.

Well well well, so I happened to find this in the supermarket earlier. I assume it’s been sitting around for a while, but the ticker in me can’t resist another slightly more unusual country tick (when I’m in the country). While Thirsty Fox are the ones you see the most here in Mauritius that are more on the craft end, they’re considered by locals to be big-beer owned (I haven’t checked) and from what I’ve tried the quality is not so great. This beer in particular is just a malty lager without much going on.

Bottle at my current Mauritius home. Hazy golden blonde with a white head. Banana yeast, cloves and wheat. Pretty true to form, but not too interesting.

Bottle at my Port Louis apartment. Clear golden with a short lived head. Light wheat and herbal aroma. Thin and watery as expected from the low ABV and fairly carbonated.

Tried in “the Irish Pub” or whatever it’s called in some shopping mall outside of Port Louis. Seems to be their way things are here. Shite place to walk around. Anyway. It’s dark in here so I can’t really see it, but it does smell. In this case of overly sweet raspberry jam. Actually in a good way that takes me back to my childhood with jam sandwiches. A bit wheaty as well of course but this is over and above a big British jam bomb. I’m sure I’ll regret it by the end of the bottle, but hey.
