Description
Along the road to Nismes, a stone's throw from Mariembourg, a peculiar building with a copy of a windmill is visible. It was the showcase of a disco that was turned into a brewery by Frédéric Adant in 1998.
At the Brasserie des Fagnes, we brew around 50 different beers per year. Our brews and beers offered for tasting may change according to the seasons. More fruity in spring, light and refreshing in summer, rather amber in autumn with more body and taste, finally more alcoholic in winter with a tendency towards strong browns ... Yes, there is something for everyone's taste at the Brasserie des Fagnes! Some of its beers are only available at the Brasserie des Fagnes. After brewing, fermentation and aging in the tank, they are transferred to storage tanks which are directly connected to the flow pumps in the tasting room.

A bit like a Tripel Karmeliet.

Tasty! Smooth yet snappy belgian ale. This brewery is not far from Chimay, and I need to stop by next time I’m in Belgium. Thick, creamy head and fine active carbonation keep the head alive. Aroma is faint, but taste is right up front with hay, hops and a little licorice. Alcohol is barely noticeable.

Malty taste, quite sweet and light bitter, caramel, bit sugary, spicy notes. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, strong sweet aftertaste, roasty, bitter notes. A really good brew.

(Draught at Delirium Tap Bar, Brussels, 20 July 2012) Amber colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity, spicy nose with notes of bread, grass and tropical fruit. Malty, fruity taste with tropical fruit, bread, hay and a mild spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Tasty and quite nice.

Slightly astringent finish on this brune, leaves sour taste on palate. Wine/cola aroma, dark but clear brown, with airy head that leaves lots of lacing on the glass. Taste...prune juice? The sweetness sets this one apart from the pack of Belgian brunes....

33cl bottle @ home. Hazy yellow color, huge rough soapy white head. Smell malts, yeast and lightly some fruity influences. Taste malts, dough, slightly yeasty, lightly herbs or spices, lightly fruity and lightly a fruitpeel-bitterness. Fizzy carbonation, low to medium body, thin texture.

75cl bottle bought at 8ième fête de la bière Namuroise. BB 03/2013, big gusher.
