Description
Note to Brewver members:-

The majority of beers have historically been released as 'Canterbury - XYZ' so should appear in the beer listings without the brewery name.

There is also a range of beers, usually only available at the brewpub itself and smaller batch, released as 'Foundry - XYZ'. These beers therefore appear with the Foundry name first in the beer listings.

Canterbury Brewers is a traditional microbrewery and the only one based within the city walls of Canterbury. We produce a range of modern and fresh cask-conditioned ales using only the finest quality floor-malted barley, hops and yeast available. With our distinctive recipes and our beautiful new brewery situated on Whitehorse Lane, we aim to add something different to the ever-growing and vibrant micro-brew scene in Kent. The Foundry Brewery, which opened in June 2011, is in sight of Canterbury Cathedral and just off the high street, and includes a restaurant, bar and an eight-barrel brewery. Brewery tours and tastings run regularly, and our restaurant can be booked for special events and functions - just get in touch!

Cask gravity at Wye Hops festival 2011. Light brown slight haze. A peppery bitter with moderate malt. Moderate to good English hop aroma. Hops smell fresh. Very tasty actually and an enjoyable bitter. Good.

Cask handpull at the Foundry Brewpub. Gold lasting white head. The first time I had it it tasted of a typical American wheat ie not very interesting. Second time had better hop finish and was pretty likeable

Cask handpull at the Foundry Brewpub. More a murky brown to be honest with lasting ivory head. Its fine. A bit muddy. Hops are half decent but overall a bit too muddy earthy

Cask handpull at the Foundry Brewpub. Clear paleish gold lasting white head. Bit estery on aroma. Touch of banana. Somewhere between a Belgian wit and a hefeweisse. Not sure it works. Great nick though. Cereal and bubblegum on aroma. Some lemon and cereal on swallow. Nit quite a wit as too much cereal and bubblegum but not characterful to be a hefe. Falls between two stools.

Cask handpull at the Foundry Brewpub. Clear copper amber colour with lasting thin near white head. Aroma of tropical fruits but some sweetness too. Flavour is mostly a butter with very miderate tropical fruit and then pretty bitter on the finish. Fine but still mostly a fairly harsh bitter than a delicious tropical fruit odyssey
