Unit 7-9 Lightburn Industrial Estate, Ulverston, LA12 7NE, England
Description
''We were making beer in the kitchen of our flat in Liverpool,” says Jon Kyme (our lead brewer) “It got out of hand.” and so Stringers was born. In 2008 Jon (a Barrow lad) dragged his biochemist wife back to the Cumbrian town of Ulverston to set up their brewery.
2018: After 10 years of trading the time was now to step it up a gear. Local business woman Kirsty Ridge purchased the invested £50,000 in new equipment allowing us to increase brewing capacity and introduce new beers.
2020: After 12 years of Stringers we decided we needed a new name and look, and so we decided to rebrand. To celebrate our Cumbrian heritage we renamed to Lakeland Brewhouse.
At Lakeland Brewhouse, brewing beer is not just a job – it is a passion. Decades of experience are poured into every pint we create at our 100% renewably-powered brewhouse in the south Lakeland town of Ulverston.

Bottle from Tebay Services [060312]
Golden amber, clear, bubbly white head, some lacing
Aroma of floral hops, sweet pale malts, soft pale fruits
Taste of bitter hops, dull citrus, pale sweet malts, alcohol, very bitter hops, flavour not great - over bitter finish affects the taste
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, little oily. Finish is over bitter, dry and astringent, long bitter linger.
Overall - Too bitter, dry and astringent which spoils the flavour. Drain pour.

Bright clear amber beer, tidy white head. Smooth palate, a little crisp and semi dry. Trace of pale malt. Bitter hops - with a little marmalade and lemon. Finishes semi dry with what feels like infinite bitter linger! Okay if a bit harsh.

Bottle shared at CPK, London - just something random I had kicking about. Pours clearish brown with a light, tan cream head. Appley notes in the aroma. Light sweet flavor with dry wood and some leathery fruits. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately dry finish with light tang, dirt, further leather. Interesting in a kind of academic sort of way, but the beer is impressively devoid of much character. Fairly mediocre.
