Description
A taste of the moors on tap.
Established in 2003 by Nick Boughton and Jon Hunt, the brewery is located in an 18th-century textile mill and uses an eight-barrel plant. More than 30 regular outlets are supplied. The Millstone Brewery restores a traditional craft to the town of Mossley, situated where the counties of Cheshire, Lancashire and Yorkshire meet.
Today Millstone is still producing popular beers that are being enjoyed not only locally but nationwide through our trusted distributors. Having brewed numerous beers over the years, we've narrowed our beers down to a strong core range of three regulars, including a stout, and three occasional. This doesn't mean that we're not working on or developing new beers so keep your eyes peeled.

Cask handpull at The Market Porter. Pale gold, lasting white head. Sherberty hoppy beer. It’s a golden ale. The body lacks a bit and the hops are a little acidic. OK, just a little empty.

Half pint by air pressure dispense at The Bow Bar. Clear amber body appearance with nice Kirchenfenster on the glass. Smell of leafy hops. Earth hop resin in the flavour in a mixture with sweet malts. Momentary bitter ending. Rather average, I would say [Edinburgh, 13.11.2008].

Cask @ Market Porter with Magic Dave6 and Mes. Clear golden color with a white head. Lots of floral aromas and hints of citric fruit. Crispy finish indeed but a bit lighter than I would like.
