Description
Brasserie Lepers is the result of more than 100 years of experience shared over 6 generations. The tradition has been perpetuated by, on the one hand, the Maille family - Brasserie Maille (since 1905) which then became the Brasserie d'Annœullin, and on the other, by the Lepers - Brasserie Lepers Frères family (from 1880 to 1960 ). These are the ancestors of Charles Lepers, current director of the Lepers Brewery now at La Chapelle d´Armentières, where the copper boilers have been moved from the old family estate of Annoeullin to preserve the art of brewing in the old style.
Note: Previously Brasserie Lepers. In 2012 moved from Annoeullin to 199bis Rue Marle La Chapelle-d'Armentières. Acquired by 3F in 2020, moved to the former Gayant premises in Douai, some production done by 3F in Belgium.

Golden color, not much head. Fruity and fresh hoppy aroma. Hoppy bitter, lemony, almost IPA-like French. Good maltyness and nice hop profile. Tasty.

Bottled. Dark golden colour, small white head. Fruit, toffee as well as a bit skunkyness in the aroma. Also some notes of alcoholic sweetness. Fruit, alcohol and toffee in flavour along with sweet malts. Quite "short" flavour, ending in a hayish finish. Weak caramel and sugar in aftertaste.

Shared a bottle with NoiZe and skortila. Hazy orange golden color, off-white lasting head. Aroma is very strong, penetrating orange and citrus, with a hint of alcohol, bubblegum, caramel malt. Taste is sweet and fruity, slight alcohol burn. Long aftertaste.

750ml bottle from Carrefour Calais. Pours orange gold with thinning white head. I like the aroma on this. Malty with good orange rind, slightly sweet with some spiciness. Good in mouth with a little bit of candy sugar, Finish is hoppy but the dryness is balanced by the candy sugar. Good citrus flavours and spiciness.

(Bottle 33 cl) Hazy, blond ale with a tall, dense head. Lots of sediment in the bottle. Aromatic - almost perfumy - nose. Pronounced sweetness with a soft, malty feel taken over by a warming alcohol - without ever appearing alcoholic. Reminds me quite a lot of a strong, Belgian ""Blonde". Comes in a plastic coated bottle. 111001

(Bottle 75 cl) Orangey golden, hazy - looks pretty much like a "Hefe Weizen". Huge head. 30% wheat in this brew - and it shows. Very yeasty nose, slightly perfumy. Has a cloying sweetness and in spite of a dry bitterness this beer seems completely out of balance. Lots of diacetyl. 230405
