On tap at Brassneck. I wrote about this beer ( https://loveandbarley.com/2015/04/04/putin-huilo/ ) when it first was released in 2015. I’d been through Ukraine in 2012 and while Lviv was definitely a beer town, Pravda didn’t exist yet. Super pumped to finally get to try this beer, even though it’s really under the worst possible circumstances. Gold, bright, no head tho. Some pale malt, light fruitiness, mild bitterness. A fairly approachable golden ale with light hop, clean malt, and kind of a Belgiany yeast. Slava Ukraina. Putin is a Dickhead.

On tap at Cat & Fiddle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma reveals moderate toasted malt and some earthiness. Flavour is fairly dry and muffled, with earthiness and toasted malt. Not much depth but just drinkable. Boring, uninspired stout.

On tap at Cat & Fiddle, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is a lacto bomb, with lots of tart peaches and huge lacto notes. Flavour is a lacto bomb, with lots of yogurt and subdued tart peaches. Also comes across as rather salty. Just barely drinkable, but pretty useless beer.

On tap at Cat & Fiddle, pours a clear copper amber with a small white head. Nose is malty, with lots of caramel malt and subdued resins. Flavour is way too malty and sweet, with subdued resinous hops and lots of caramel malt. Old school west coast but way under-hopped and overly sweet, borderline cloying. Not good.

On tap at Cat & Fiddle, pours an opaque dark pinkish red with a small white head. Aroma is pithy, with lots of blueberry notes and some citrus pith. Flavour is quite sweet, with lots of blueberry juice, citrus pith, and orange juice. Lots of blueberry and orange juice. Pleasant juice beer.

Okay dark brown body and modest foam. Nice sweet coffee and molasses on the nose, channeling the macro stouts of olde. Taste is soft barley, smooth coffee and molasses notes. Ends reasonably full. Fits the context it's meant for and that's about it.

Watery hazy yellow body with no foam or visible carbonation. Soft grapefruit aroma, juicy but weak. Taste is weak grapefruit, no tartness, slightly sweet and ending way too watery. There's nothing here to recommend.

Light clear pale straw body and modest foam. Very faint rancid peach on the nose, cinnamon maybe, possible juice notes. Taste is citrus with a hint of tart grain and soft steel wool finish. Peach? Never heard of it around here.

Clearish orange body and good foam. Nice pungent candied pine on the nose, chewy in a good way. Taste is more candied pine, soft biscuit notes, ending with lingering sweetness and soft dry grain notes. A more malty affair than you'd normally find in a hazy but still quite nice.

Medium clear copper body and modest foam. Soft sweetness on the nose, slight grain. Taste is soft honey, vague grain, with a terrible tinny aftertaste. This one needs work.
