Poured from the tap. Clear-ish light copper gold with small white head. Virtually no haze. Chewy malt, mild pine hops, it’s okay I guess.

Poured from the tap. Clear amber with small white head. Quite malty, simple, inoffensive.

There is a slight haze to it, but the word means slurry or trub these days and it's not that. Thick head. Piney and somewhat cheesy hop nose. Malts aren't bad - toasty and crystal malt chewy. So it's obviously an old school west coast IPA, not a hazy. But at the same time, the recipe isn't bad. It's balanced but it does suffer from not having bright, fresh-tasting hops.

Amber, bright. Thin head. Chewy caramel malts. Some bitterness but no hop brightness. Ok this is about what I’d expect from the cat n fiddle (sorry grew up in pitt meadows so I have my biases) but that’s so strange in the 2022 context. That weak chewy malt thing isn’t helping it…if your hop contracts aren’t where you need them to be you at least need to crush the malt character.

Okay clear orangey gold body and mellow foam. Smells of weak hops, vague honey, taste is much the same with some sugary grain. Has a very odd cloying finish. Very tepid.

Okay dark copper body and some okay foam. Smells of soya sauce mostly, some dried biscuit. Taste is more soya sauce and biscuit with brown sugar finishing dry, slight plastic, and a little thin. Mediocre, can't pick up any creaminess either.

Medium clear gold body and minimal foam. Nice honey and grain but I can't pick up the coriander. Taste is great honey, slightly floral, bready grain and a dry finish with some soft lingering sugar. A very appreciable golden ale.
