Can. Pours clear orange amber with lots of small floaties. Small off white head that dissipates with nice lacing. Aroma is orange zest, caramel, pine. Flavor is about the same, light sweet and medium bitter. Orange notes more muted in flavor, but rind bitterness comes through in far finish. Medium bodied and creamy in the mouth. Quite interesting actually; a little to much lingering bitter.

Sampled from the tap at FOBAB 2012. Pours black with a dark brown head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has a nice roasted malt note with a hint of sweet dark grains, coffee and a wood backing. Flavor has more roasted malts with a hint of sweetness and oak in the finish.

A rather flat bitter pale ale. Slightly darker than pale yellow with a unique light yellow foamy head which subsudes quickly. Yes, rather large pounder can. Not sure if I taste any aronge peel in there, just seems dully hoppy bitter.

Bottle on Amtrak Train 27 - The Empire Builder ( from Binny’s South Loop) - 04/11/12. Lightly hazed russet brown with reddish hues, thin bubbly off white head that soon forms a pond and clears to the edges. Big caramel malt nose, dark sugars, touch of hops. Tastes of caramel malts, sweet sugars, raisens, hops. Fuller end of medium bodied with soft carbonation and smooth on the palate.

Big pounder can. Nice beery aroma. Big rocky head on a pale looking thing that has just barely a haze. No co2 on the tongue is my first impression. rather hoppy for a blond, I would say this is more like a mild apa. I must say, it does have a very nice appearance in the glass. Yes, has quite a peircing bitter hop effect. Especially on the finish. Not as behaved as a golden or blond beer should be, rather up yer nose for a lager lover.

from a big 16 oz can. red and black label. Lots of perfume from a overwhelming foaming pour, almost got it all over the floor, ran to the sink, heheh. Head goes 4 inches rocky crag. Foam mustache fer sure. The smell makes my mouth water. Oh my, first taste is double ipa bitter nagging blast, wew, I think the first swig made me a little dizzy, kick me in the jaw. Wow, thiss stuff looks good as you pour it into the glass, lots of rolling carbonation. Yez, each swig knocks my head back, wew. Difficult is a nice word for this terribly on style kicking ass brew. One of the most offensive beers I’ve had in a long time so if you like IPA, you gotta try this batch. Large freshly tarred and chipped tongue I have now. You should see the foam on this, looks like foam that blows off the see in a windstorm. Weird overall beer experience. Hey there are these things floating around in the glass, chunks of stuff.

Bottle. Lemon/orange malt aroma. Golden yellow with large off-white head. Lightly sweet orange/lemon and light malt flavor. Mild citrus hops finish. A nice beer - a hoppier version of Koelsch.
