bottle - Pours amber (whodathunk?) with a one finger head and a light, malty aroma. The flavor is mild bready, caramel malt. It’s light to medium bodied, smooth, and kind of watery. There’s just not much going on here. huh... just noticed this one was my 1000th American beer rated. Too bad I didn’t pick a better one.

Near black. Light head. The aroma is mostly nutty with some deep coffee. Slightly creamy mouthfeel. Nutty, coffeeish taste. Finishes sweet with just a hint of alcohol.

Rich golden colour with a thin head. Herbal hop nose with pear-like notes. Fairly rich hop with some cloying sweet malts. Finishes sweeter than I’d prefer and seems to really lack polish.

Reddish-amber. Light head. Some burnt phenols, dark cherry and light chocolate on the nose. Chewy, with some bubblegum and burnt dark fruits but the package lacks cohesion. Plasticy phenols detract from everything. Sweet, cloying finish.

Let’s git this one out of the way, I’m pesimistic about anything that says imperial on it. I’ll rate this monster in recognition of ratebeers triumphant return. Kinda looks like iced tea. Fairly strong hoppy lager aroma, somewhat like imperial pilsners I’ve had. Not as bad as expected on the taste buds but it certainly is quite hoppy bitter. Roll your tongue up against the roof of your mouth and get a shiver, mah fah. Never had an impy ESB, but what the Devil? Kick butte, plowing thru my taste buds. Regardless of how offensive this is, it is not as bad as many impy IPA or impy stouts. Really does have ESB character on the upper level of rudeness. Some ESB are friendly and well mannered, and this is not! heheheh. Will not buy again, way too much for this lager lover. On par with Berkshire Cabin Fever Ale or Laggy’s Impy red.

’’Brown 12 oz bottle in a big clear tumbler. Alarming alky ethanol olfactory, do I perhaps even smell some rubbing alcohol in there? Orangy colored iced tea appearance, looks very pretty with the sunset shining thru it, appears viscous and sparkling. Quite strong initial alky taste impressions. This is going to be a buzzy session. No lacing except a g-string. Coating without much carbonation. 2 bottles of this and yer done. Terrible, uness bitter beer, on style! heheheh s4L3f1t3o4’’

bottle - Looks like they dropped the "Balto" from the name. Pours brown with a thin head and a very light malt aroma. The flavor is all caramel malt. It has a light body and a mild flavor. While not too bad, it’s underwhelming in pretty much all respects.

My bottle says Oxford Organic Ales, nothing about clipper city on this label..... General good yeasty beer aroma, not off. Caught a whiff of candy in the background, when I close my eyes, I imagine Im in a candy shop. Color is somewhat darker iced tea. I thought I saw some bottom of the bottle sediment in the pour but upon closer inspection it may be filtered. Has what seems to be a slight metallic flavor on the initial sip. Decent creamy carbonation which is welcomed. Has a few ale illmannerisms but is certainly not over the top for a ubiquitous lager lover. Seems a little viscous in the glass. In the finish it seems to have more than 4.8% alky. Lingering darker ale end of session.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a mahogany color with a small brown head that faded quickly. The aroma was nicely malty, lightly roasty and had a hint of ripe fruits. The flavor was dryish and faintly tart with light fruits and a touch of nut. Rather subdued.

Bottle: Pours a soft orange copper color with a large, creamy sandy head. Thick clumpy lacing. Smells of citrus and florals, a bit sweet and malty too. Tastes of a medley of citrus and florals. Nice malty balance. Some wetness in the hops and a bit of tropical fruit. Really quite enjoyable. Thanks to nimbleprop for this!
