A deep golden pour that looks slightly hazy and a bit translucent through light. Head looks soft/pillowy, shows good enough retention and very nice lacing. A great aroma that feels both vivid and soft, with a bready, slightly caramelly underlying feel followed by a beautiful grassy, slighlty peppery, delicately lemony/cedary hop profile. There's a light, soft feel underneath that might be associated with diacetyl though i'm not getting actual butter. Tatste notes as per aroma, the maltiness and sweetness are decently deep but there's a very vivid grassy bitterness that feels both assertive (per style) and delicate. Balance is slightly towards bitterness with a clean finish. That background softness can be found in the taste as well, with the slightest buttery note now maybe perceptible. Light to medium bodied, perhaps fuller than you would expect for the abv, with medium, fine bubbled, soft carbonation. Overall very easily drinkable but also quite fuller than a typical pilsner and nicely soft. Wonderful. P.S. I'm wondering if fresh from the wood, unfiltered and unpasteurized is enough to explain the huge difference in terms of richness/depth between this and the standard urquell, or if this is a slightly modified recipe. I lean towards the modified recipe, this one has an assertive bitterness that the commercial one just hasn't.
