Barva zlatava, velmi mirne zakalena. Pena nizka ale trvanliva a husta. Vune kvasnicova, chmelova. Chut celkem horka, hodne lehka, trochu vodova. Dojezd horky trochu citrusu trochu chleba. Celkem fajn desitka Slad teda necitim.
Taste 2: 2026 Taro hodne sladu a konec takovy nasladly karamelovy. Nejak me to moc neuchvatilo. Horky je to dost a na desitku i dost plny ale ne uplne tim spravnym zpusobem.

Bottle via Beermalade tasting. Full body, med-high carbonation. Assertive alcohole, present in moderate strength, but pleasantly, adding a rounded warmth, no harshness. Med-high sweetness, dried fruits, light sherry. High hoppy bitterness, med-light citrusy earthy character. Overall very well rounded. This is a sipper, rewarding even as it warms up. I could use more hops character in an American barley wine, but this is a bottle over a year old. So, great.

Bottle via Beermalade tasting. Conflicting body impression, objectively rather thin, but the massive maltiness imparts a very silky mouthfeel, which pulls it up to medium. Med-high carbonation. Medium bitterness, low sweetness. Hops in the background. Overall fully malty in character. Loads of caramel, toffee, cocoa. Deep roast (coffee) present, but less than I expect in an Irish stout. I even get light dark fruits/berries. Also a bit of diacetyl, but that just might be the plethora of malts interacting. Slightly minerally feeling, which is on point in style. Overall the beer is good. But I am distracted by the style, which it does not feel into. My idea of dry stout is having a more simple, but intense malt character, this needlessly embraces a whole spectrum of flavours, which in the end paradoxically work against it, creating conflicting feelings in body, etc. Good but not great.

Bottle via Beermalade tasting. Thin body, med-high carbonation, instantly disappearing head. Moderate sourness, also moderate tartness, associated with the blackcurrant. The berry itself defines most of the character, this does not even feel like a beer any more, mostly a full-frontal blackcurrant juice with alcohol. Simple, straightforward. Drinkable, good, but I am bored by beers like this.
