Description
LOC Brewery brews quirky, craft beers that are a voyage of discovery for the taste senses. It is our ambition to conquer the world with this. LOC Brewery wants to experiment with flavours, herbs, fruit and even let beers mature in wooden barrels.

LOC Brewery is an initiative of Roy Maas (he left in 2018), Erwin Schellekens, Daniel Tano and Paul Cools. The four know each other because their children were in the same class, so they met in the schoolyard. In December 2014, LOC Brewery started brewing small amounts of beer. Since then, brewing has accelerated to meet the demand from tastings and events. The first beer was launched in June 2015.

Bottle @ home. Clear golden color, medium sized white head. Smell and taste malts, wheat, initially a bit plant like aroma but that's gone fortunately. Still it's a somewhat weird flavor. Unlike previous hopfenweisse I've had. A bit thinnish texture, average body, average carbonation. In the end I must say this is probably the beer I like the least from LOC. Or maybe even one of the first I dislike. Nonetheless, LOC almost always delivers. So I'm still a huge fan. This one however I dislike.

Bottle @ home. Clear golden color, huge foamy soapy rough white head. Weird grassy aroma. Weed. Flavor is better. Malts, hops, grassy (and a touch of weed again) and lightly bitter notes. Average to decent body and carbonation. Hmm ok.

Bottle @ home. Unclear yellow to -I don't know- a weird weak orangy-ish color. Very small if any head at all. Smell and taste lightly malts, dominantly indeed fruity notes that remind me of strawberries but in a sour way. There are probably hops in there but I don't get them. Ok beer I guess but not my thing.

Bottle @ home. Bottled October 4th 2018. Hazy yellow color, medium to full sized white head. Aroma is intensely fruity and tropical fruity. Maybe a bit over the top but still quite delicious. Flavor is the same: intensely tropical fruity, overripe super sweet melon, although the beer itself is pretty decently bitter. Your mind upon smelling the beer makes you think it's sweet but in reality it is decently bitter. Quite pleasant. Well done again by LOC!

Sampled from 0.33 l bottle, best before January 2027. Black with a beige head. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, some nuts and a touch of licorice. Gently sweet, malty, quite roasty taste of dark chocolate, coffee, some licorice and hints of nuts, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter, earthy-dry finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. Nice!

Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Pretty hazy yellow color, decent to medium sized white head. Smell and taste malts, hops, a slight perfumy hint in the aroma but in the flavor it's really pleasant (and it doesn't have the perfumy notes). In the flavor it's just nicely hoppy. I like it. Good one again from LOC!
