500ml can from Share House in Moscow. Pours opaque black with a frothy beige head. Aroma is roasted malt, piney hops and alcohol. Taste is light sweet, boozey, pine, roasted malt, ash, watery. Heavy bitter and alcoholic finish. Light bodied for 8.5% but hard to drink at the same time. Bakunin made a pig’s ear of this beer while cashing in on the almost complete absence of Black IPAs in Russia.

500ml can from Beru Vykhodnoy. Pours opaque amber with a thin white head. Aroma is smoked, caramel, dried fruits. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, malt, dried fruits, smoked wood. Light sour finish. Alcohol is masked well. Full bodied. Somewhat hard to drink. To me it seems like a cross between a Rauchbier and a strong dark lager. In fact at times it was as if I was drinking a “Baltic porter” made by a Lithuanian macro brewery that had gone sour.

50 cl. can shared with Rick @ home, bought @ Una Mas, Nieuwegein.
Hazy pale yellow with a white head. Citrus and tropical fruits aroma, along with some pine. Sweet taste with a fairly bitter dry finish. A bit thin bodied but otherwise nice.
