Description
The Craft Academy helps craft new talent and unbottle potential by giving young people the chance to earn while they learn about brewing, design, marketing and sales. With the help of experienced mentors, the 18 month course teaches participants industry-specific skills as they work towards a bespoke apprenticeship qualification, all while creating beers under the Craft Academy brand and bringing them to market.

The Florence has a long history of being a brew pub. Formally the home of Head in the Hat brewery; a heritage brewery that proudly called us their home until 2015. Continuing this rich history we are proud to welcome Craft Academy as our new in house brewing team.

33cl bottle from my local Londis. A bright amber pour with a loose whitish head; caramel aroma with some piney hops; rather soapy in the mouth, with a light herbal bitterness, some biscuity malts and some caramel; then a slight warmth in the finish. Pleasant.

Bottle @ The Plough, Bloomsbury, London. Golden with a creamy-frothy head. It's a full-bodied pale ale hiding its own strength. Slightly robust tasting but still has a pleasant dryness to it. There's some nice caramels in its taste.

Keg @ Moorings, Sowerby Bridge. Golden with a creamy head. It's a lightly carbonated pale ale, but low in character within this style, however it is crisp and easy-supping. There's some caramels in both aroma and taste.

0,33l bottle from Prisma, Imatra. Clear, amber beer pours out hugely, but the head vanishes quickly. Aroma has caramel and pine. Taste has also caramel and pine. Very nice overall with caramel, pine and some rye. Not watery at all, which is good for this low alcohol beer.

Bottled 330ml. -from Beer & Snacks Zagreb. Dark golden coloured, medium sized white head, fruity herbal nose. Sweet malty, light fruity and herbal hoppy with touch of caramel with dryish bitter finish. Nothing special here.

Bottled 330ml. -from Beer & Snacks Zagreb. Almost black coloured, medium sized cappucchino head, chocolate and pretty strong leek???in the nose. Light roasted malt, some caramel and brown sugar with again pretty noticable vegetables (leek) notes. Weak on hops and rather sweet finish. Infected bottle or pretty lousy academy work.
