Bottle, 4.5%. Slow gusher. Very dark brown, airy beige head. Licorice, roast and choc aroma. Coffee and roasted malt flavour. Ok flavour but overcarbonated. Rather light.

Bottle, 6%. Gusher. Nearly black, huge beige head. Roast and choc aroma, nearly overpowered by massive co2. Chocolate and mild roast flavour. Overcarbonated for sure but seems clean enough.

Bottle, 8%. Nearly black, small light beige head. Roast, light licorice and light smoke aroma. No peat for me. Bittersweet flavour, roast, mild smoke, licorice. Bitter licorice finish with a little more smoke and a whiff of peat. Decent.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a dark brown with an orange hue and a creamy, lacing, beige head. Peaty, smoky nose. Medium body, rather heavy in carbonation, harsh roast and smoke with a bitter finish. A bit whacky. 271219

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a clear orangey brown with a very lively, beige head. Subtle roast and vanilla nose. Kinda light-bodied for the style, but good, clean roastiness - and very dry too. Unfortunately a very dominant, metallic note, but your palate kinda gets used to it. Somewhat to the fizzy side, but definitely one of the cleaner and drinkable beers from this producer. 170919

Bottle 50. This batch only 7,0% and hence no longer really Imperial. Pours a clear brown with a reddish hue and a neat, lacing, beige head. Heavy smoky nose, distinct peat and iodine notes. Rich, sweet, roasty body with tobacco, tar and rather heavy peat. Rich, solid and warming and the peat is adding to the flavor rather than overpowering it. A solid black beer. 200819
