Tap at bungalow. Deep amber to brown. Big smoked malt nose, ham, smoked salmon, caramel, light chocolate. Flavor is very smoky, more like you find in Bamberg than is usual in Japanese craft. Slightly roasty, rich caramel and black bread. Very cleanly fermented. Good stuff.

Passific Brewing Chewy Gooey 6% Oatmeal Brown Ale with Blueberry On tap at Bungalow. It’s a murky brown pour it’s a creamy tan head and sweet brown sugar biscuit aroma. Oatmeal raisin bran cereal, anyone? Quite full bodied with a somewhat velvety smooth mouthfeel. The taste reminds me of a creamy rya ale. It’s got some peppery notes with raisins/blueberries popping up in the finish. Reminds me of a creamy smooth brown Porter with English mild malt elements that at times evoke tobacco and rye. Really interesting and tasty of this grey winter day, I’m glad I ordered it.

Quite nice. But maybe the fruitiness overwhelms the lager. In fact there’s very little lager characteristics in there. But nice hoppiness though. Got that garlic and onion thing going on too.

Tap at Bungalow. An oatmeal brown ale with blueberry. Nose is dark chocolate, caramel, light coffee, and just a touch of blueberry. Dasrk brown and hazy. Dry, slightly roasty, toasty, nutty, dark chocolate flavor, with a little more tart blueberry. Bitter finish. Decent.

Tap at Bungalow. Lemony nose, grassy hops, crackery malt. Hazy bright golden color. Crackery, grain y malt flavor, good hops. Crisp and hoppy, nice lager character. Malt flavor a bit oddly grainy but not bad.

slightly hazy golden color. Nice sudachi (green citrus fruit) and grassy hop notes, with only faintest hint of smoke. Slightly tart palate with nice sudachi character. medium bitterness. Fairly unique and super drinkable. Like this

fiery autumn color. Slightly grassy nose with apricots and strawberries. Firm bitterness, a touch of bread but lots of dried fruit character. Nice mouthfeel but lack a bit of body. Still overall solid take on the style

Deep golden color. Thin white head. Very resiny, piney, citrusy nose. Malt forward, but then intense hop assault on the palate. Very full bodied for 7%. Intensely bitter. One of the most bitter Japanese beers Ive had. Excellent hop character. Buscuity maltiness. This is one of the best WCIPAs Ive had in Japan.

Not that nice. Really earthy twiggy thing going on. Not good at all in fact. I guess some people like this kind of hoppiness but it’s not for me.
