Golden beer with medium and white and head. Aroma is quite aromatic, flowers and spicy, some witbier-like coriander and lemon. Flavour is simpler than aroma, some sweetness and spicyness and again some witbier elements, but overally taste is a little bit too mild. Medium palate with balanced carbonation. Balanced beer, but too carefull.

Very dark brown brown beer with medium beige head. Roastiness, some milky sourness and hint of sweet fruits in the aroma. Flavour is different than aroma, sweet, dark fruits, some roasted malts and spices: flavour could be more stronger. Medium body and quite high carbonation, but still quite nice to drink. Good dubbel but I have feeling that too many compromises have been done; this could be better beer with more passion and courage.

(bottle, 25cl) Slightly hazy, reddish amber colour with a medium-sized off-white foamy head. Artificially and heavily sweet fruity nose with notes of berries; cherries and strawberries. Sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Artificial fruit-flavoured taste with a sweet and sticky, also a bit tart finish. 06.III.10

Clear deep amber color, steady creamy beige head, lace. Sticky wood, grass, berries and caramel with light alcohol in the nose. Medium-bodied. Harsh, alcoholic, caramel, gooseberries, redcurrant. Kind of more alcoholic version of Leffe Rossa.

The father of every abbey beer. I think it was the first brew that i get knew beyond the mass-produced lagers. So this launched me to the way of discovering the world of ales and the other beautiful beers in the world. So, nice black (dark-red), velvety body with right thickness, good malty sweetness, and long falloff. It’s like bread, you could may bite it. Later as you hold it in your mouth, the body became syrupy and pleasantly stroke your palate. The carbonation and alcohol are well-hidden. Fruityness in the aftertaste which refresh me.

Pours deep mahogany into a tulip. Off-white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Yeast and pit fruit aromas. Sweet and nutty upfront turning fruity in the middle and then into a lasting bitter earth finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours a clear deep amber with a neat off-white head leaving a neat lacework. The yeasty aroma has Leffe writen all over it. Medium body, sweet dried fruit and a little fruit, but this is entirely a yeast job. No real evident spices and a rather subdued bitterness. No yeast sediment in Leffe’s anymore? Damm, it must’ve been too long since I last had one. 080210

Hazy gold with a light beige coat. Orange aroma with coriander seeds and some earth/ cave yeast. Less carbonated mouthfeel than other tripels I’ve had. A little alcohol burn, some yeast and bitterness at the end. Peaches, mango and some mysterious depth. Lots of spice - coriander, clove, juniper and white pepper. Identifiably Leffe. One of the better ones, and a nice Tripel.
