Beautiful tripel. Maybe not the best, but it certainly looks brilliant!.....

Clear dark brown color, medium lasting head. Aroma of chocolate malts, oatmeal, bread. Taste is full complex and malty, with a lasting finish.

Rerate: finally after 10 years a rerate. Original rating I can still remember, as I drank it in a small beer in Como, Italy. Great time, where the bar was about to close at dinnertime, but me and my friends were staying much longer than supposed to. We wanted to tip the owner, but he was very happy with our visit and insisted on a discount. Great times. For the beer itself: I relive a lot of nice memories. Quite decent fruity and malty aroma, bit spicy of belgian yeast. Bit sweet taste, bit dry, fruity. It still is the best leffe and a pretty decent beer. Original rating: Brown color. Sweet aroma. Malty taste. The best Leffe. 7 4 8 4 17 --> 4.0

Bottled:
Pours clear, deep golden with a big, foamy head. Sweet and wheaty aroma. Flavour is sweet, fruity and wheaty with notes of yeast. A little bit of alcohol in the finish. Nothing spectacular about this beer, but it might be a good introduction to belgian ales.

Brown-reddish colour. Yeasty, somewhat complex aroma. Nutty, clean-tasting. A beginner's abbey.

Pours thick and orange brown. Fruity aroma, full bodied, but overly sweet for my liking. Lacks the complexity of the better examples of the style.

A helluva lot better than the Leffe Blond! (Guess I'm a malty guy.) Pretty sweet; caramel, chocolate, oak and dried fruits in the aroma, malts (somewhat roasted), caramel and oak in the flavour, hops in the finish, a little too sweet in the aftertaste. Not bad!

I guess Belgian blonds are not my favourite style, the yeast becomes too dominant in both aroma and flavour, not least in this one. Of course it's better than any macro swill, but give me a darker beer, please!
