Clear, brown-reddish body. Brownish head, creamy, mostly diminishing and good lacing. Hoppy, malty (chocolate) aroma. Sweet initial falvour, lightly sweet, lightly bitter finish.

Light copper brown, creamy off-white head. Complex herbal fruity aroma, maybe horse radish. I am not a big fan of Belgian ales, so malty leather taste is not so enjoyable. Taste is also fruity.

Light amber color; creamy head. Aroma of white sugar, paper, dust. Quite sweet, corn-like; more balanced at the end. Easy to drink, but not outstanding.

Wonderful deep copper to brown in colour with thin head. Notes of spices like coriander or cloves in the nose with some warmth. I get some liquor aromas with some sweet maple. Deep malt taste with some spices, with some pears, and again this nice caramelly rum flavour. Good bitterness which coats the mouth in a pleasant way. Good stuff. 7-4-7-4-15
Bottle at l’autre oeil, june 16, 2006. Hazy red copper ale with a thick big bubbled off white head. Herbal malts with orange peels and coriander, thym and grass. In mouth, a rich alcohol warms the mouth, leading to a crisp malt, light herbal hops. Rich bodied. 8-4-8-4-15

(draught) Colour of coca-cola, little head, but very lacey. Nice perfumed nose, biscuit, caramel or Sachertorte, but fresher. Medicinal, bit piney flavour. Sweet aftertaste, like a cola gum. Bit thinnish structure, but the body is there. Alcohol too, even when 6.5 isn't all that high. Better than feared, but far from great.

Pourred a nice copper brew with a huge head that stayed on for a while (What a start!). Mix of spice is not present enough for my liking and would have expected better body from a belgian strong ale. Alcohol is well hidden. Overall, I wasn't impressed and I had better brew from Leffe. I had this from the bottle and wondered if it wouldn't better in a draught format.

Amber colored with a typical huge "Belgian head". Fruity, yeasty aroma with notes of bubblegum. Fruity and quite sweet flavor. The alcohol gives it a marzipan-bitter finish.

Dark yellowish brew with a nice foamy head. I taste the usual belgium spice but still less present then I would have hope for. This beer is also less hearthy then I would have liked. I guess this is a good introduction to belgium brew but not up to the level of a great brew.

Brown colour, fairly clear with almost no head. Smells exactly like a normal belgian white: yeast & wheat are very noticeable as well as some other 'clean' aromas. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong malt characteristics. Decent sweetness (from sugar-perhaps caramel) and coats the mouth. Aftertaste shows a subtle spiceyness with prominent malt. Overall, a decent beer, not great and definately wierd for the style. I had this served on draught at Monty's Korner in Rochester, New York.

Very dark brown with just a glimpse of red. Greige head, not really stable but lacey. Nose gives dark malts, definitely some chocolate; bitterish note, woody and vegetal-herbal. Light bitter taste, a bit nutty as not-quite peeled walnuts. Roasted malt - but underlying malt is rather neutral 'stead of sweet. Herbal smell comes back with every sip and it mixes with the taste. Difficult to pinpoint - like the bark of some trees? Medium-bodied. In the aftertaste the bitterness becomes a tad harsh, and even more woody. Definitely not a bad beer - but not up to its Grimbergen equivalent.
