Description

Deep brown pour with a light tan head. Medium bodied. Hey caramel, molasses twang, dark malts, bread dough, spice. Finish is lightly sweet with a spicy finish. Nice.

Cloudy copper with a white head. Cereal grain, toasted malts, grassy hops, a touch of lemon. Medium bodied. Finish has a nice bitterness in the finish that keeps things nice and refreshing. Having read reviews of this all over the map I wasn’t sure what to expect but am more than pleasantly surprised. This is a really nice beer.

Bottle from Bierkiste. Pretty much black, brown creamy head. Intense aroma: Roast, salmiak/licorice, smoke, dark chocolate, wood and cherry. Medium full dry base, peaty smoke, tobacco, roasted grain, Kirschwasser, Pumpernickel, spice notes. Fullflavoered, intense, stays interesting for a long time - many flavor notes to discover.

Good tan head, slowly receding over almost black beer. Rauchmalz, smoked wood, smoked mackerel. Cherrywood pipe (I've used one!). Lightly phenolic, smoke, tobacco ashes, wood. Dark malts, melanoidins, maltsyrup. Sweet finish. Quite well-carbonated, full bodied, slick. Bit soupy, too. Not bad, strange characteristics for an Imperial Stout, and low ABV. Txs to Stef!

330ml bottle. Cloudy, orange, dark golden to amber colour with average to huge, firm, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity, hoppy aroma with citrusy, zesty aspects, hints of grapefruit, lemon, minimally herbal undertones, rather neutral, malty background. Taste is slightly dry, papery, oaty malty and minimally fruity hoppy, hints of orchard fruit, a touch of grapefruit, subtle residual sweetness, some zesty bitterness; papery finish.
Slightly creamy, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium, prickly carbonation.
Disharmonious, not overly flavourful, even some off-flavours - meh!

Bottle from Bierkiste. Murky dark copper, offwhite fine creamy head. Allspice and clove aroma with quite some presence. Medium full creamy dry body. Spicy entry, caramel toasted banana on base, light licorice notes, light cassis, a hint minerals and ash in the aftertaste. Fairly interesting split between the spice, caramel malt base and the fruity notes. A bit too dry on the palate, but the creaminess helps with that. Actually enjoying it more and more sipping it.
