Sample at Collaboration Fest on 03/19/2016. Dark brownish-amber color with a medium thin light beige head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Small patches of lace. Aroma of malt, fruit and oak. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, fruity tannins, oak and a bit of earthy hops. The finish is fruity and oaky with a malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Medium to full body with flavors of caramel malt, dark fruit, oak and earthy hops. The finish is peat malt and fruit. Above average overall.

Sample from cask at Collaboration Fest on 03/19/2016. Clear dark amber color with a medium creamy light beige head that dissipates steadily to a dense film. Small patches of lace. Aroma of malt, oak and caramel. Medium to full body with flavors of caramel malt, dark fruit, oak and peat. The finish is oaky with a red wine and malt aftertaste. Above average overall.

10 ounce at the brewery - dark Amber beer with a moderate, creamy head - nose of toffee, treacle, charred oak, plums, light peat - creamy texture - caramelized sugars, light spiciness, moderate charred oak, the sugar adds an interesting earthy depth - sweet, but the spiciness and a mild back end acidity keeps it from being cloying - impressive Scotch Ale.

Tulip at the brewery - hazy gold with a fluffy lace - nose of candied ginger, white pepper, wheat, tropical fruit - soft texture - medium fry with moderate spicy phenolics, some tangy pineapple character - finishes dry, refreshing, spicy - I dig it.

Tulip at the brewery - black, headless, fizzy pour (looks like cola) - the texture is a bit thin, a stark contrast the the base beer, which is served on nitro - the mouthfeel here really diminishes the experience - the flavors do not pop as much, and the coffee, rather than add additional depth, kind of muddied the experience - somewhat oily, perhaps from the coffee - tastes of weak, mildly acidic coffee and some bittersweet chocolate and vanilla - meh.

Taster at the brewery - Black pour, on nitro, so a nice head to it - well-executed sweet stout - nice balance of light roast, sweet cream, bittersweet chocolate, a hint of dark fruit and a touch of smoke - a mod acidity cuts the sweetness through the middle - good.

Taster at the brewery - clear copper - nose of honey, flowers, citrus - flavor is mostly clean and medium sweet up front, but tastes kind of husky and raw on the back end - moderately bitter and somewhat floral - sweet but mildly unclean, herbal finish - needs cleaning up.

Taster at the brewery - pours lightly hazy gold - nose is light and crisp, with some light pepper, dust, and crusty bread - light bodied, but full carbonation - light melon, wheat, pepper, a touch of lemon, hazy - finish is lightly tart and subtly spicy - pretty well done traditional session saison.
