Geel bier met veel stevig schuim. Smaak is fris fruitig zuur met iets van citrus en ananas. Goed voor een warme zomerdag.

Draft glass @ Spéciale Belge Taproom. Golden hazy, nice creamy white head. Nose is low soapy fruity, lemon, fruity, bread, BE yeast & hint passionfruit. Taste is candied lemon peel, passionfruit, BE yeast, bread, sweetish, passionfruit profile really helps it. Bread & soapy body. Def. my favourite Galea beer so far. Didn't really get funk.

Pours rather clear blonde. Small white head. Smell is bit estery, mild metallic notes. Bit citrussy. Fresh. Taste is sharp, citrussy, mild wheat. Full grainy back. High carbo. Rather balanced. Sharpness reminds of metallic, but it’s not actually metallic at all.

The cognac edition in this new series of Antwerp quadrupels, bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck. Pale greyish beige, moussy and bubbly, lightly lacing, opening head, hazy deep and warm mahogany brown robe with coppery tinge. Aroma of plums drenched in brandy, walnut liqueur, fig compote, caramel, liquorice, old raisins, 'jenever', dried banana, straw. Sweet and fruity onset, brown sugariness, raisin and dried banana impressions with a sourish undertone, medium carb, supple and full body but still a bit thinner than expected based on the high ABV. Nutty, caramelly maltiness with a lightly bitterish toasty edge, herbal and bit peppery hop touch in the end drenched in a lot of very clear liquor, though not as expressively cognac-like as it could have been; this booze heats the finish and distracts a bit from the lingering malt and sugar sweetness as well as the spicy phenols showing up in the end. Pleasant enough, but a tad crude and unrefined for this style - this could and should have been more.

Donkerbruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is warm, krachtig en zoet met iets van drop, anijs en zoethout. Helaas komt de cognac niet echt naar voren.

Sampled at zythos 2018. Thnx for sharing, everyone! Pours unclear copper brown. Smell is woody. Bit booze. Some caramel. Taste is caramel. Chocolate malts. Roasty. Surprisingly roasty for its ebc value. Bit boozy. Hidden cognac notes.
