Description

09/08 0.5 l bottle. It poured pale golden body with medium sized head. Citrus hoppy and slightly malty aroma. Flavor had cardboard and herbal hops of typical boring German pils, slightly dusty with honey malts. Thinner in body with boring short papery dry finish. No, I can’t like this anyhow.

Clear dark amber with a large beige head. Aroma had rye bread, roasted malt, caramel and hints of smoke. The flavour was sweet and had notes of roasted malt, caramel, smoke and grassy hops. The hops gave the otherwise sweet beer a nice balance.

swing top bottle 500ml. -Courtesy of and shared with Doggythedog/heavy who brought it from Berlin (thanks!)
Hazy yellow/orange coloured, medium sized white head that went away slowly, dusty banana nose with mild hint of spices. Very light taste, wheaty, yeasty, fruity (banana and orange) with mils spicy notes near the end. If anything else, drinkable.

Yellow coloured, small airy white head, slight acidic vegetable nose. Sweet malty, slight hoppy and grassy with notes of corn. Short bitterish finish. Boring.

Another one picked up at our only gas station stop during the entire Berlin-Zagreb trip. Yes, that was quite annoying. Anyway, shared with heavy and ogivlado. Brilliant that we managed to find one that wasn’t on Ratebeer! Poured a murky apricot body with a huge creamy white head that went away slowly. Light sweet banana nose, slightly bready, light chewed up bubblegum. Such chewed up bubblegum dominates the (light) taste that’s also slightly creamy. Eh, ok nuff for what it is.

Bottle from some gas station in Fränkischen Schweiz I guess, shared with heavy and ogivlado, like most others today. Poured a shiny yellow body, small white head, good head retention. Vegetabley sweetish nose, light rice. Ugh. The taste, however manages to be completely different and actually bitter. Bitterish and hoppy, nice, slightly piney, going into the aftertaste. That’s all there is, one dimensional and simple but quite pleasant, better than most bottled pilseners that we had during the trip to Berlin.

Can found on some gas station in Bavaria, shared with heavyPoured a pale yellow body with a small white head that went away relatively fast. Sweet polleny nose with notes of orange. Taste... earthy, beets, some hop bitterness. Actually, more microish than I expected from a canned pils, though beets are for me one of the least favorite tastes I can find in a beer.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Comes as "St. Georgen Bräu Alkoholfrei". Pours a clear pale yellow with a white head. Aroma of a litle sulphur. Thin and watery, no real malt feel but a very dry and bitter hoppiness combined with a little metal. 080210
