Description
We focus our attention on brewing rustic, unfiltered, aromatic beers that are approachable and unique. We pull from our home brewing background to build beers that pay homage to tradition, but break new ground in American brewing techniques and flavors by blurring the line between beer and wine. We are brewers of big ideas in very small batches.

On tap at the brewery. This is incorrectly listed as a porter, but is actually an IPA. Aroma is dominated by dank hops with moderate grapefruit and lighter pineapple notes. Light phenolics and cracker note. Pours a cloudy golden yellow with a medium thick white head. Head recedes fairly quickly to a light film then lingers. Medium light lacing.Flavor is similar to the aroma with a medium light cracker malt note. Medium dank hops with medium high grapefruit citrus notes. Medium light pineapple. Light phenolic note with medium strong bitterness. Bitterness hits me as a bit harsh. Finished nice and very dry.Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low hop stringency and low alcohol warmth.Overall an alright beer but the hop bitterness is a touch harsh. I think I was expecting a fruity Brett beer, but this is definitely on the dank side.

Tap. Pours cloudy golden with a small white head that dissipates quickly with decent lacing. Aroma is citrus, dank, yeasty, passionfruit, Brett perhaps. Flavor is light sweet, light plus bitter, a bit of funk, mineraly, zesty, yeast with just a touch of Brett, earthy. Medium body, creamy, quite nice overall, but the finish is a bit harsh.

750mL bottle, sent from futuraxz (thanks a Will), pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out red wine barrels, almost a chilli pepper like scent, boysenberries, and some funk. Flavour is very rich, with loads of dry, tart boysenberries, a slightly chilli pepper like hotness, and dry red wine notes. Very slow sipper, due to the hotness and dry, vinous, tart qualities. Not the most drinkable beer, but it's quite elegant. Good stuff, just not that drinkable.

Bottle@SARA, shared among friends. Pours cloudy golden with a small white head and good lacing. Aroma is funky - horse blanket - very gueuzelike, fruity. Flavor is much fruitier and only slightly funky, light sweet and light tart. Light body. Quite nice. Rerate after a few weeks in the bottle and it has developed nicely, bringing out the oaky barrel notes and increasing the dryness of the finish. Very tasty beer.

Bottle @SARA. Shared among friends. Pours deep brown with a small tan head and nice lacing. Aroma is tart cherry, oak, light funk, roasted malt. Loses its tartness as the beer breathes and becomes more standard porter-esque. Flavor is medium sweet, lightly tart, perhaps rum although certainly not pronounced. A fair amount of woody astringence present. Medium body, high carbonation.
