Description
D9 Brewing Company, in Lake Norman, N.C., was started by two engineers and a doctor, with a mission to inspire and support community through the creation of exciting and original crafted ales. Since our inception in late 2014, we have invested in the scientific exploration of the natural world to produce the highest quality, and unquestionably original, crafted ales. D9 Brewing is striving to become the leading producer of mixed wild fermented beer in the southeastern United States, and has been awarded multiple prestigious medals in the sour and mixed-wild categories at the Great American Beer Festival (2016/2018).

Bottle - pours reddish brown tan head - nose/taste of sour caramel, florals, fruity funk - medium body. Lots of foaming head lost half the bottle, but what’s left was good.

Sample at Savor 2016. Hazy golden amber color, white head. Nice aroma of overripe stone fruit. Taste is softly sour apricot, citrus, mild funk. Very tasty.

2 oz pour at SAVOR 2016’s Saturday session. Clear golden orange with off-white head. Aromas of apples, tart stone fruit. Tastes of tart stone fruit, lemon lime citrus. Medium body with a dry finish.

At SAVOR 2016. Poured an amber color with a small head. Aroma was lots of tropical fruit notes, citrus, strong tart notes. Apricots come through on this one, very pleasant stonefruit notes. Very tasty. Fiance really liked this one.

At SAVOR. Poured a hazy golden straw color with a fizzy head. Aroma was citrus, tropical fruits. Very strong sour notes. Light floral notes, pretty tasty, though not a lot of nuance.

Savor 2016: Starfruit, apricot, unripe persimmon aroma. Clear amber, thin head. Tart lemon, orange, persimmon. Malt finish. Light body, soft carbonation, tannic. Very well rounded, and unique. The best beer I had at the event.

Savor 2016: Dried leaves nose. Opaque copper, thin head. Extremely tart currant and green olives. Medium body, very tart, easy carbonation. Weird.
