THT. 🙏 Thanks Rasvan! Pale straw, thin white head. Sweet wet cardboard, and the beaches of somewhere exotic. Oh crappy country ticks, this is your taste. Quite a good one. Light sweet, soft and smooth. Soft carb. 🇸🇨 Seychellen +1!

Bottle at THT September. Clear light golden with white head. Massive skunk, gotta love these green bottles. Also cardboard, and some sugary malts. Light bodied. Damn this is bad, though maybe also old.

The Seychelles version of the original foreign stout by Guinness, thanks to tderoeck for this interesting find. Loose, greyish off-white, bubbly, opening head on a black beer with hazy chestnut brown glow. Quite unusual aroma - for this brand - of caramel, 'koetjesreep', elderberry syrup, ground hazelnuts, some rusty iron. Sourish onset, weirdly and unexpectedly so, hinting at blackberries and elderberries, but with evident caramelly malt sweetness making up the core of this beer; softly carbonated, with a slick, smooth mouthfeel, a tad thinnish even for this ABV. Caramelly, Ersatz-chocolatey and lightly brown-bready malt body, straightforward but pleasant, though plagued by a metallic edge and some onsetting oxidation in the end. Remains sweet-caramelly in the finish too, with only very soft toastedness and hardly any hop bitterness, followed by a glow of warming, though well-behaving alcohol. I will never forget the distinct character of the Nigerian variant of Guinness Foreign Extra Stout, and this one comes quite close to that, in a way; tastes quite different from any of the other regional interpretations I had of this beer so this must be a tick in its own right - even apart from the fact that it obviously makes for a difficult country tick as well.

Bottle, thanks Grumbo. Clear golden, medium white head, nonlasting. Crisp nose, quite some corn. Medium bitterness, somewhat grassy. A bit of corn sweetness. Light body. Nicely drinkable for what it is.
