Clear very dark color with a fine frothy off white head. Ok intensity in the aroma. Looks nice. Mellow decent sweetness and a bit oily texture. Medium (+) body and an ok carbonation level. Easy to drink. Toffee, bready and a bit fruity flavor. Far better than feared. Quite nice actually.

Bottle 50 cl. Well, for once it doesn’t live up to its name since it’s not deep black, it has a deep burgundy tweak - pretty but not deep black - and a neat black head. I’m pretty sure I’m getting diacetyl in the nose, but the brewer will probably argue that it’s a complex interplay between the spices. Sure smells like diacetyl. Strangely light in body, notes of dry, English licorice - no traces of the added berries and spices. Drinkable with a strange, tart edge. 200617

Draught at KØ17. Sweet liquorice aroma. Black colour. No head. The flavour is roasted and vinous. Low bitterness. Faint sweet liquorice flavour. Does not taste very fruity to me, but perhaps it is just the vinous notes I get.

As Ceres Norden Gylden IPA. Pours just slightly hazy amber, topped with a medium sized white head. Moderate fruity nose with herbal character. Medium bitterness with herbal finish, a bit too much. Lighter body. Nothing special.
