Canned 10/12/22, drunk 12/10/22. Mostly clear, lemon-golden yellow. Small, white head shows moderately strong retention. That smells killer as soon as the can is opened. Heavy white wine, citrus gummies and herbaceous greenery. Soft, honey-like base malt gently balances. Listed as an NE, but there's zero weird yeast here and not even much ester. No booze, either. Just lovely Nelson which is tough to do this harvest. Lemon-lime, soft white grape, citrus gummies, white bread and honey-like malts. Good bitterness picking up with pine mixing in to the finish. Clear, bright hops highlighted with soft, well attenuated malts. Really gotta get to Kern River some day soon; these beers were phenoenally clean, balanced and well-presented on the hops.

Hollingshead draught, 12/9/22. Clear brass-golden, small, but moderately-well retained, white head. Nose is sweaty, juicy, citrusy hops. Peach, tangerine, cracker, earth. Can see where the high ratings come from. It's clean and yet funky with so much sweat and moderate citrus. No pine, resin, but also no juice, sugar or ester. Just lots of Citra, mineral and pale malt. Soft, moderately citrusy, mild, clean, balanced, earthy, mineral-forward/sweaty and soft in texture with great attenuation and good malt depth. The fact that this beer beats out 99% of current IPAs is really something. It's not flashy, intensely flavorful or anything like that, but still just provides perfect balance.

473ml can. Crisp, massively hoppy and tropical fruity with some citrus, pine and grapefruit, loads of lingering bitterness. Pretty tasty and balanced

uper deep and dark brown coloured body with a very thin pure brown head that fades very quickly and leaves a small lace on the sides of the glass. Aroma of maple syrup, oak, vanilla, molasses,  rich grain and oatmeal with some toasted grainy notes and a light dose of vanilla here, all with some oaky and very bourbony, barrel aged notes that dominate at the end of the nose. Full-bodied; Very rich oaky and especially cedar notes that show with a ton of boozy and bourbony notes with a dash of hay and anise at the end, all very sweet and pungent in the palate, but enjoyable throughout. Aftertaste shows some anise, licorice, alcohol, maple syrup and a lot of icing sugar, wich a big pungency from the grainy malts, but passable if you are expecting it! Overall, a nice and very rich beer that has tons of flavours, especially the sweet and bourbony notes that reign supreme throughout. Overall, a great beer to sample, on draught, especially, while here in town - definitely get it if you can find it! I sampled this eight ounce pour on draught at Toronado in San Francisco, California on 29-August-2022 for US$7,00 sampled at the pub here in town!

Tap @ Sori Taproom. From backlog. Poured deep golden color, almost clear. Thin white head. Malty, nutty notes. Resiny hops, malts, some earthy notes. Strong bitterness. Maybe not the freshest keg?

Old school west coast IPA with slightly old hops. Lingering bitter finish. Don't know the canned on date.

An interesting blend of aromas – mild resin hops with some sweat, a touch of weed, cabbage and minerals. Flavors are similar to nose, really good with slightly sweet up front, with just right bitter and carbonation to balance. Pot comes out a little bit in the finish. It's like West Coast V2. Very nice beer.

Can, thanks to Bytemesis. Pours hazy dark yellow with foamy light beige head, citrus peel-pineapple aroma, adequate carbonation, medium bitter citrus zest-pineapple taste, a bit of alcohol burn at the end, thin body, long bitter finish. Enjoyable but bitter.

The aromas are loads of fresh Citrus hops bitter orange? And some grapefruit along with hints of resin and weed. Flavors are like nose, mildly sweet up front along with some mint maybe and steadily growing bitter. Great body, carbonation and bittersweet finish. Good beer.
