Pint can pours with a crystal clear near glowing deep ruby red to mahogany colored body that supported a short lived white head of foam. The aroma offers up brown sugar stewed plums and plums and then lesser amounts of molasses covered ripe cherries, a touch of boozy kettle caramelization. The taste delivers a wonderful blend of malt sweetened and slicked back sweet dark fruity esters, reduced sugars and smooth barrel notes. Like the nose I get left on the stove from last night brown sugar stewed plums and dates and dark red near over ripe cherries. To midway a pleasing modest caramel candy note bubble to the surface wrapped up with blunted whiskey boozy twang and molasses drizzled oak. Yeah. This works on many levels achieving great balance and depth. Solid sipping experience.

500mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany with almost no head. Nose is complex and rounded, with lots of port barrel character, gently tart blackberry, and some bugs hiding underneath. Flavour is fairly sour, acidic, and dry, with lots of sour blackberries, gentle bugs, and subdued port wine barrels. The nose is much more exquisite than the taste, which is compromised a bit by the acidity, which subdues the other elements. As it warms, the flavours develop more, almost as though I'm drinking a tart red wine. Good, but needs a bit of refining.

On tap at Dark Sky, pours black with a small brown head. Aroma is pretty divine, with loads of coconut upfront, followed by toasted pecans — low roast. Flavour is decadent, with loads of coconut and toasted pecans upfront, followed by dark sugars, a little roast and subtle molasses. Really wonderful use of adjuncts. The 13% is scarily hidden. And the sweetness is high but never close to cloying. Lovely.

On tap at Dark Sky, pours a clear dark amber / mahogany with a tiny beige head. Aroma is full of cherry, brandy barrels, some whiskey barrel, and alcohol — that's pretty complex. Flavour is complex, being primarily dominated by the cherry brandy upfront, accentuated by a little whiskey barrels, and some caramel. The body is lighter than usual for the style, and also sweeter, with almost no discernible hop content. Complex and well-balanced.

On tap at Dark Sky, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is like a decadent apple pie, with lots of cinnamon, baked apples, apple brandy, and a little vanilla. Flavour follows accordingly, with deep baked apples, apple brandy, cinnamon, and macaroons. Certainly on the sweet side, but it's tastefully done. Excellent.

On tap at Dark Sky, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out crisp piney hops, a bit of melon, and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is gently sweet, with bright melon, tangy citrus hops, and crisp biscuity malt. Lots of melon and tangy citrus hops on the finish. Very nicely made.

On tap at Dark Sky, pours a clear amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out crisp bready malt, biscuity notes and light toasted nuttiness. Flavour is nice and malty, with dry bready malt, crisp biscuity malt, and light nuttiness. Real nice malty character to this, with appropriate crispness. Not sure if it's true to style but it's well-made.

Pint can pours with a murky opaque full copper gold body that supports a near creamy dirty white head of foam. The aroma offers up largely mango and tangelo. The taste delivers a balanced attack of bitter to tangy citrus and soft sweet mango and guava. It picks up a wafer thin send of cracker like maltiness midway and into the finish. This is a nice balanced IPA with plenty of flavor depth. 8 5 8 4 18
