Since its creation the Iron brewery has sought originality while maintaining "high-end" quality. Evolving outside the paths of "Blondes, ambrées, brunes", being part of a new original and qualitative French brewing landscape is a priority. We dedicate our soul to bringing craft beer to the same level as wine, namely a beer that is not made only to quench thirst but for tasting and thus create new passions.

19 May 2019. At SWAFFF!, Brussels. Cheers Anke, Erwin & Ama Deke! Hazy black, lasting, small, foamy, dark beige head. Aroma of walnut, toast, earth, fondant, tobacco, red bell pepper, black olive, black pepper. Taste is light malty sweet, subtle chocolate & toast going into a medium roasted bitter core with toast, coffee, nuts; a peppery & olive-like umami edge already introduce a chili burn, becoming more apparent in the dry, earthy & peppery hoppy finish where toast, nuts & ash linger - chili reminding of Sambal Ulek, actually toning down the coffee liqueur-like alcohol warmth. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Chili works well here, although it's not the richest of Imperial Stouts.

19 May 2019. At SWAFFF!, Brussels. Cheers Anke & Rubin77! Hazy pale yellow, lasting, very thin, white head. Aroma of - indeed - mozarella, sour milk, yeast, sourdough, basil, pepper, salted tomato, vegetable, weird whiff of Ice Tea Peach. Taste is light fruity sweet, subtle peach & apricot, going more towards a sourness of unripe yellow fruits, cheese & sourdough, a bit lactic & lemony, complemented by bitter notes of herbs, grass & pepper. Dryish, floral hoppy finish, a bit tart, more yellow fruits, spices & lactic accents. Medium body, slick-oily texture, fizzy carbonation. Original concept and it even works quite well. Not one to drink by the gallon but nice to try.

19 May 2019. At SWAFFF!, Brussels. Cheers Anke & Rubin77! Clear pale golden, lasting, thin, unstable, frothy, white head. Aroma of dill, rosemary, mint, lemon zest, grass, mandarin, white pepper, breadcrust, pineapple. Taste is light fruity sweet, subtle apple, pear & pineapple, supplemented by bitter notes of grass, pine, spicy pepper, dill & mint, sourish undercurrent of wheat & lemon with a bready-yeasty edge. Dry, earthy hoppy finish, lingering spices, bread, yellow fruit, herbal & medicinal effect. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Not really my thing.

19 May 2019. At SWAFFF!, Brussels. Cheers Anke & Rubin77! Cloudy pale yellow, thin, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of young pear, apple & pear compote, unripe apricot & plum, grass, straw, rhubarb. Taste is light fruity sweet, mix of apple, 'pear & plum compote', accents of 'soggy' white bread, sourish undercurrent of wheat & lemon, some bitter notes of grass & earthy rhubarb leading to a dryish, tart, faintly earthy hoppy finish, lingering rhubarb & plum compote. Medium body, slick texture, fizzy carbonation. Bit of a weird mix, indeed, but the rhubarb is there, although I didn't really enjoy it.

On tap at Brewdog Brussels. Murky magenta! Pink diminishing head. Beetroot, parsley, grincajg, some fruit, difficult to tell which in aroma. Flavour clears it: nice passion fruit beetroot balance. Nice sourness. Medium body, lasting tart fruity finish, berries and tropical. Lively, unique.
