Nose is caramel, fruit rinds, biscuit, light herb.
Taste comprises fruit slice, brown bread, stewed fruits, caramel, biscuit.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close with a mellow bitter edge.
Not bad.

I'm drinking the wooden cask brew version for this one. The brewer told me that they regularly do special wood versions of their brews to send out to festivals or bars they supply, but when they aren't being used for this purpose they do one for their tap. Amber more than red but smooth, mild wood barrel influence, very smooth and clean in the palate.

The sub description for this beer is 'Sleeping In The Job Since 22', which got me thinking about my drifting off at work, which has happened a couple of times briefly due to later life insomnia, but in early working life when I was sent here there and everywhere by my employer I quite happily went to sleep in a car or on a train en route!. This floral-hoppy session is making me sleepy now!!!

A house brew by a local for a local in Rochdale. Easy, sessionable hoppy brew and a decent enough feel in the palate for a sub four percent beer.

Cask @ Fox And Goose, Hebden Bridge. Black with a light-brown creamy head. Good dark malts, fused with a richness within a creamy-smooth texture. Its spice, although more than tolerable is just about its dominant feature though.

10/10/2024. Cask at Nottingham Beer & Cider Festival 2024. Pours very dark brown with a small frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma is well spiced, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, caramel, chocolate. Moderate sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, slightly watery, average to soft carbonation. Enjoyable, liked the spice, would have scored higher if it had the full-bodied character the description said.

Cask @ D'Ale House, Rochdale. Black with a light-brown creamy head. Its liquorice and notable blackcurrant combine to make this a fairy sweet stout in design, with a coffee base.
