The phrase title of this beer can be attributed to the Napoleonic wars era. Slightly hazed golden coloured brew, over carbonated taste for my liking, but crisp drinking. West Coast style, nothing particularly flavoursome about it. Mild sugars found.

Rochdale Winter Ale Trail 2025 Beer#5 at what is officially Venue 7. Pale golden pale ale, a hoppy little number. Expected more fruit but not much in here, it's a fine session ale though.

I had a beery day in Rochdale yesterday and never even knew it was the current Greater Manchester Town Of Culture, not a bad golden ale to celebrate though, standard, but healthy enough.

I think I have Lucid Dreams' all the time, I just have trouble remembering them. This one contains plenty of sweetish orange fruit flavour to compliment its hoppiness. A nicely carbonated keg pour too, which is at a manageable strength.

Golden amber with a bubbly white head and a sweet fruit malt aroma. Fresh and fruity, malty with floral hop bitterness and a dry bitter finish.

Third of a pint at the Shrewsbury CAMRA Beer Festival on 25th September 2025. Bright amber body, soft white crown. Malty with an orchard fruit undertone, got more bitter and dry as you got into it.

Cask at Magnet, Stockport. Pours almost black with a sizeable foamy tan head and good lacing. The aroma has roasted malts and coffee with hints of dark fruit. In the mouth there is a brief burst of creamy sweetness before bitter roasted malts come through. These then give way in turn to tart blackcurrant plus traces of liquorice and underlying coffee texture leading to a decidedly dry finish. This is decent – a beer of many parts which somehow hang together well.

I got to use a pissoir in Dieppe last year - quite good fun! No little nap needed after this golden coloured one, still well awake. It's a standard lager really, easy strength, nothing much more to particularly say about it.
