We have crafted a range of malt-forward ales you can really get your teeth into.
Quality craft ales for the discerning drinker.
The name SaltRock, as well as being a representation of flavour (salt) and substance (rock), is also a contraction of Saltire and Shamrock, in recognition of the founder’s heritage, having grown up in Ireland before finding a home in Scotland.

Bottle, gift from Pam. Hazy bronze body with a thin off-white head. Fine carbonation. Patchy lacing. Aroma of coriander seed and wheat. Flavour of salted lemon, orange and sorrel. Medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. Crisp and refreshing.

Bottle, gift from Pam. Black body with a beige head that holds well. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of coffee and roasted malt. Flavour of Marmite, earth and roasted malt. Medium body with a creamy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. A rich and earthy porter. Very enjoyable. I’d love to try an imperial version of this.

500ml bottle from Scottish Real Ale Shop, Kilmahog - Misty deep brown, very short-lived tan head. Smoky nose, roasted malts, sharp dark chocolate, little bitter finish. Bit thin on the mouthfeel, enjoyable nonetheless.
