Cask-conditioned at the Old Spot, Dursley 28/6/2024. Dark brown in colour, with reddish undertones and an off-white head. Brown sugar, red berries and plums, a vague toastiness and gentle finish. Pleasant.

Friday 10th May 2024, hand-pulled half-pint at the Crown Inn, Oakengates. Clear and clean golden body, white head. Not a lot going on really, lightly hopped, weak malt base, just a simple quaffer.

Friday 10th May 2024, hand-pulled half-pint at the Crown Inn, Oakengates. Lovely looking beer, chestnut/mahogany body, clean and clear, lightly tanned foam topping. Pretty sweet with a caramel lead, soft cherry hints and more malty molasses in the finish.

Cask at Bird In Hand, Stafford. Pours a hazy very pale straw with a small foamy off-white head and good lacing. The aroma is mainly malts with a hint of mint. In the mouth it is sweet and juicy but with some underlying sharpness. Flavour has citrus, malts and biscuits to start off with but later some berry fruits and lime come through leading to a decidedly fruity finish. This is rather nice with texture similar to a standard mild but also a refreshing fruitiness. [ Claims to be a “white mild”]

Not remotely like a Brown Ale. Odd
