Horizont Brewing
Microbrewery in Budapest, Capital City of Budapest, Hungary 🇭🇺
What we like is the versatility of our consumers. Our beers are gladly consumed by beer connoisseurs and everyday beer drinkers, and we created our beer portfolio to fulfill everyone's beer needs. Our beers are available in all Michelin star restaurants in Hungary and can be found in most of the craft beer bars around Budapest.
We believe brewing is an art form.
We try expressing that through our labels as well not only by whats inside on the bottles. For that reason we worked with a local artist who created artworks we used on our labels, specifically capturing the essence of the character of the beer on the canvas.

Panda thanks to Cloin. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Smooth airy palate, a little soft but decent fine carbonation on the back end lightens the load. A touch of dark chocolate malts, mildly creamy. A slightly more obvious toffee vibe reminds that this is actually a barleywine! Big bourbon barrel character. Soft rich ripe fruity bourbon and wonderfully rich fruit cake. Mild oak induced vanilla. Some bourbon spice. Smooth rich fruity finish. Breaks no new ground and a barleywine utterly behoven to its barrel. No issue with either of those points, rich, tasty and drinkable.

On tap at Stifler, Budapest. Cloudy yellow with medium white head. Citrus, some tropical notes, not too sweet, tad juicy, no real bitterness.

A rather unappealing beer visually- no head and a very muddy dark brown. Bold cherry, caramel, sweet px sherry notes, light oak, some chocolate but that may be more of a whisper than a real note. I didn’t get rum out of this nor did I pick up much of the base porter- mostly the cherry and sherry. That being said, it’s a fun beer and a good beer to share with a few friends.

Bottle shared at work. Pours deep brown colour with beige head. A nice malt-forward beer with decisive walnuty-caramely nose and taste.

On tap at Dezső. Deep brown pour, beige head. The nose is beautiful coffee and some earthy notes with a touch of fruits. In taste the same notes appear but a bit weaker. So far so good, but the body is so thin, almost watery, that it almost manages to ruin the whole.

On tap at Neked csak Dezső! I only took numerical notes while having this one.

Bottle at home. Nose is rosehip mainly, decent, deep fruity. In taste the rosehip is there too, quite definite with an interesting, fruity-floral touch which I reckon must be the tea. In the finish there's a very apparent bitterness that's not too upfront, but lasts quite long. Light bodied with average carbo. Not bad at all, but not really my cup of tea either.
