Description
Horizont Brewing is an innovative, indepentent craft brewery, one of the first big names in the craft brewing scene in Hungary. With many medals earned, we are proud to announce that Horizont Brewing was the first mid-European brewery to win the Alltech Craft Beer Cup in 2017 in Dublin. The Sailor Belle, a Belgian Witbier fermented with Saison yeast, is still one of our bestsellers.

What we like is the versatility of our consumers. Our beers are gladly consumed by beer connoisseurs and everyday beer drinkers, and we created our beer portfolio to fulfill everyone's beer needs. Our beers are available in all Michelin star restaurants in Hungary and can be found in most of the craft beer bars around Budapest.

We believe brewing is an art form.

We try expressing that through our labels as well not only by whats inside on the bottles. For that reason we worked with a local artist who created artworks we used on our labels, specifically capturing the essence of the character of the beer on the canvas.

Bottle at home. Nose is rosehip mainly, decent, deep fruity. In taste the rosehip is there too, quite definite with an interesting, fruity-floral touch which I reckon must be the tea. In the finish there's a very apparent bitterness that's not too upfront, but lasts quite long. Light bodied with average carbo. Not bad at all, but not really my cup of tea either.

Bottle shared at Csakajo. Deep golden pour, white head. Nose is super complex, walnuts, booze, some vanilla, Tokaji Aszú, faint woody notes. Taste is sweet boze, some nuts again, more vineous character than in aroma. Long sweet, boozy finish, soft carbo, mesium body. Complex and interesting dessert beer.

Bottle shared at work. Jet black colour, thin head. Nose is earthy, roasted, dark chocolate. Tastewise it’s moderately sweet, there’s dark chocolate and cocoa powder, some earthy notes and a super faint boozy touch. Long sweetish finish, light to medium body, soft carbo. I thought it’d be sweeter and creamier.

Bottle at home, köszi Tomi! Pours deep golden with no head. Nose is sweet floral, fruity and moderately boozy. Taste is sweet hoppy again with a boozy kick that hits right after and is present at the finish too. Closes with short to average finish, has soft carbonation and surprisingly light body - drinks well below the ABV. Somehow held back in every aspect, I expected stronger notes both in the aroma and taste. Definitely a pleasant one, but nothing outstanding.

Bottle shared at work. Pours jet black with brown head. Nose is super intense coffee, cinnamon, roasted malts and seeet booze, very nicely rounded. In taste it's a little less intense, showing notes of coffee, booze, malts, a touch of almonds and the cinnamon's there too. Medium to heavy, silky body, soft carbonation. Tasty dessert stout.

Can at home, courtesy of the Horizont bois, thanks a lot guys. Apparently this was canned today so one might say it’s pretty fresh. Pours murky golden with no head. Nose is huge fruitbomb, stonefruits, mango, a touch of pineapple maybe. Taste is sweet fruity first, then come some grassy notes, bit of a hopburn, low bitterness in the finish. Light, somewhat creamy body, soft carbonation. Well done.
