ON TAP at brewpub. Fresh juicy and pithy grapefruit, abrasive hoppy mouth feel and juniper spice. A nice Nordic twist for a hoppy beer. Excellent.

[ As Labietis Mežs (Forest) ].Unclear medium amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, pale malt, flowers, wood, herbs, juniper. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, herbs, wood, flowers, caramel, juniper. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150926]

330ml Bottle - Amber with a small head. Juniper, caramel, sultanas and dried apricot in the aroma. Fruity, tangy and moderately sweet taste with juniper, raisins, sultanas, caramel and some earthy notes standing out.

330ml Bottle - Black with a foamy head. Liquorice, roasted malt, soap and some slightly smoky notes in the aroma. Hoppy, roasted and fruity taste with fudge, raisins, liquorice and soapy hops.

330ml Bottle - Golden with a haze and a white head. Herbs (I am not familiar enough with meadowsweet and yarrow to discern them), citrus and spice in the aroma. Fruity, sweet and herbal taste with a slight tartness and notes of lemon, peach and grapefruit. Refreshing, enjoyable and interesting.

330ml Bottle - Hazy amber with a smalll head. Pine, grapefruit, apricot and toffee in the aroma. Hopppy, fruity, tangy and slightly earthy taste with nuts, grapefruit, raisins, dried apricot and pine. Nice but am keen to try a fresher version of this (this one is 6 months old) as I think it could be even better.
