Bottled, dated sept 2013, BB sept 2014, large sample. Initially clear golden to orange color, huge frothy off-white head. Aroma of some caramel, little apple, bit grainy, hint of citrus, spicy. Slight bitter taste, quite dry. Way too much carbonation. It has a spicy feel to it, not clean as an APA should be. Just another Dutch ’impression’ of an american style. And just another fail.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Yoav’s place. Thanks Tom L. Deep golden with a white head. Yeasty and fruity aroma with light spicy and soapy notes and a bit of acetaldehyde. Sweetish fruity and slightly spicy flavor with light floral and citric notes and a mild bitterness. Medium-bodied.

330ml bottle. Clear amber colour with huge, frothy to macropore, collapsing, off-white head. Fruity ester-like aroma, hints of dried apricot, nectarine, a peppery yeasty touch. Taste is dry hoppy, peppery yeasty, slightly sweet malty fruity, hints of dried apricot; effervescent carbonation. If I have to take this as APA then perhaps as Atlantic Pale Ale in the sense of somewhere between America and Belgium. The hops may have American origin, but I can’t believe that an American ale yeast has been used here.
