Can from Tavour. Pours clear bright gold with a huge foamy near white head. Aroma of smoke, burnt wood and malt. Med body. Flavor is the aroma with some Noble hop notes. It's not bacon. It's more like alder used to smoke meat. Really nice!

From tap at As Is NYC. Citrussy aroma with lemon lime, lactose, picking up some almond as well. Tart and sourish, a little sweetness from the vanilla. Medium body. Interesting and tasty 'cocktail' ish beer.

Aromas are Amber malt, toffee and dry grain. Flavors are similar to nose, meaning sweet but with enough bitter and carbonation to balance. Not much roast for a Vienna. Okay buddy and slightly sweet finish. Drinkable but nothing special at all.

Bottle, group split, at the CBJ tasting 29/01/2026.
Extremely dark mahogany brown topped with a khaki cap that veers to the edge.
Nose is chocolate, dark malts, bourbon nip, spice.
Taste comprises mellow roast, chocolate shavings, bourbon bite, spice, fruit cake.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost.
Solid BA kit but came over more like an impy stout than a BW.

Aroma has notes of campfire, black peppercorns, grain, amazingness. Taste isn’t quite as impressive. It has all the great attributes of a good Rauchbier, but there’s a slight Band-Aid-ish off-note that definitely spoils the party. I was able to get used to it after awhile, and I still think it’s a good beer, but it’s unfortunate. It has a moderate hoppy bitterness backed by restrained bready malt sweetness.
