Bottle from Hilldevils. Aroma is strong vanilla with oak, hops, whisky, notes of ripe fruits, malt, some candied orange, caramel, more barrel notes. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a fairly bitter finish. Body is above medium. More IPA left in this one than the other BA IIPA's from Hilldevils that I enjoyed. Good stuff.

Bottle from Hilldevils. Aroma is bourbon, roasted malt, vanilla, oak, chocolate, some coffee and caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Body is medium to full. Well done, beautiful bourbon with vanilla, wood, roast.

From the sterk, Amsterdam in 2018. A long time in my cellar. Tasting it monday afternoon, free day and solid imperial stout, 100% pleasure with a clear note of smocked whisky,roasty, dry, boozy, dominant whisky, woody, bitter, coffee. 18.01.2025

-1 point for the obnoxious plastic pseudowax. Lightly cream-tinted, small head over hazy red-copper beer. Very strongly vanilla, Bourbon, crème Anglaise, and a bit of resin/pine. Vanilla again, double cream or coffeemilk (Nutroma). Raisins, bit of wholemeal bread, very faint bitter. Alcoholthinning, if little alcoholburn. Quite slick, oily texture. Alcohol surprisingly hidden. Far from bad, but not really very complex, in fact it is the Bourbon that confers all its character.

Bottle 0,33ltr: Not black but very dark brown colored brew with an great dry bitter taste, with hints of chocolate and with an little bit of smokiness. Great beer in this style.

Nice evening sipper. Deep copper in the glass and a fine off white head. Good intensity in the aroma. Fine balance between sweetness and bitterness. Also a fine carbonation level. Pleasant to drink.
