Buying it in the sterk, Amsterdam, during one of my trips. Bottled in 2017, opening this bottle yesterday, solid and classical imperial stout, roasty malt, cocoa, chocolate, touch of vanilla, coffee, full body, a bit boozy, bitter, some dryness. 18.03.2025

Almost clear copper beer under a thick, slightly yellowish head with rings of lace. Citrussy, hoppy-oily nose with exotic fruit, preserved orange. Bitter-citrussy, with a quite dry, lupulin imposed finish - really as straight from hopbells. Bit vegetable too. Light body, if very hopoily, slick. Not very carbonated. Hopbomb, just maybe a tad too oily-sticky-hoppy to be really a thirstquencher (which would be required for a summer ale). Txs to Stef!

Aroma of malt, caramel, tropical fruits, pine. Flavour is fruity and hoppy with some caramel malt thrown in. Finish is bitter. I like their IPA better, but this one is quite tasty as well.

Bottle at home. Aroma is big oak, dark malt, chocolate, coffee, roast, some fruity hoppy notes, hint of smoke, earthy hops, light salty liquorice. Flavour is moderate to medium roasty hoppy bitter with a very dry finish. Body is medium. Not your typical Black IPA, more of a coffee roasty aroma with lots of oaky notes. Good though.

Bottle from Lekkerbier, Sint Nicolaasga. Aroma is roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, caramel, notes of dark fruits, earthy manure, raisins and liquorice with a slight smokey peaty touch. Flavour is medium sweet and moderate to medium bitter. Body is medium to full. Nice one, pretty heavy on the coffee, with some slight flaws such as the touch of weird manure.
