Description
We approach brewing like a musician composing a song.

Each beer begins with an inspiration: from nature, food, or an unforgettable experience.

Production is patient, personal and reflective; the vision evolves until it is brought to life in the glass.

Like the song, each beer is our expression, but the enjoyment and interpretation is yours.

Cheers!

At Alesong, our approach to brewing is patient and artistic. 100% of our beer is matured in barrels and then consciously blended to create a complex and unique beverage experience. Drawing inspiration from like-minded artisans across the globe, the goal is to create beers that are innovative and unique, yet approachable and balanced. And with flavors that range from tart and fruity to rich and malty, there's something for every palate.

We believe that beer is worthy of contemplation and reverence and hope to share that passion with you.

Bottle at tasting shared with Joes, Judyvv, Ansjelaah, DutchDrebus and Laura. Brownish color, virtually no head. Aroma and flavor are sourish, tart, vinous, cherry stone. Don't get bourbon tbh. Hmm too sour for me.

Clear gold body with medium white head. Grassy aroma. Hop forward taste with citrus notes then a full malt body. Pleasant light finish.

2018 vintage (the only one, I think). 500mL bottle, pours a hazy dull golden, almost no head. Nose is somewhat oxidized, with musty, dusty white grape skins, light oak, and some wild yeast. Flavour is definitely past its prime, sadly, with plenty of oxidation, faded musty grape skins, soft oak, and plenty of lactic acid to finish. Lots of lactic acid on the finish, with little else. Not the brewery’s fault, but this is sadly a shadow of what I assume it was.

Poured from 500mL bottle (bottled 06/2018; cases produced 120). Hazed gold with almost no white head. Citrusy honey, touch of cardboard, grape must, bit of acid, decent but definitely past its prime.

500mL bottle [bottled 2018]. Slightly rustic & floral yeast and grape juice on the nose; smelling a bit old. Flavour has some wine grapes, a bit of a peppery yeast character, and a very assertive tartness. Coming across very lactic. This tastes like it has aged poorly, a bit unfortunate.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Nose is full of charred oak, deep roasted malt, subtle vanillin, and a touch of alcohol. Flavour is super rich, with intense charred oak, big bourbon, light vanillin, and alcohol. Lots of lovely charred oak and bourbon, with maybe a touch too much alcohol. Beautiful.

Bottle.

A- Dark brown color, opaque liquid, tan head.

A- Malt, woodsy, caramel.

F- Oak, caramel, malt.

T- Full body, slightly thick texture, average carbonation, malty finish.

O- Almost a creamy head and texture which felt out of place but not a bad thing. Loads of caramel and malt. Good but also just okay. Wanted a bit more substance or complexity to it. Borderline being a malt bomb.

On tap at Final Draft, pours black with a tiny tan head. Aroma is refined, with a wonderful cherry character mingling with vanilla, and soft bourbon barrels. Flavour is rich and refined, with a surprisingly cohesive mix of cherries, vanilla, and bourbon barrel. The palate is extremely smooth and deep, with everything coming together real nicely. Lovely.
