Description
We approach brewing like a musician composing a song.
Each beer begins with an inspiration: from nature, food, or an unforgettable experience.
Production is patient, personal and reflective; the vision evolves until it is brought to life in the glass.
Like the song, each beer is our expression, but the enjoyment and interpretation is yours.
Cheers!
At Alesong, our approach to brewing is patient and artistic. 100% of our beer is matured in barrels and then consciously blended to create a complex and unique beverage experience. Drawing inspiration from like-minded artisans across the globe, the goal is to create beers that are innovative and unique, yet approachable and balanced. And with flavors that range from tart and fruity to rich and malty, there's something for every palate.
We believe that beer is worthy of contemplation and reverence and hope to share that passion with you.

Draught @ Dageraad. Slight haze, light amber. Thin head. Light phenols, and some fruitiness I'd attribute to the mandarina, slight biscuit/cracker malt note, mellow phenols and just a touch of bitterness. Cleaner than I would have expected.

Draught at Dageraad, Burnaby
Hazy golden colour. Light aroma of malt and apples. It has light residual sweetness, light malt flavour, touch of vegetables, some bready and spicy yeast character, not getting anything from the dry hopping, carboard in the final.
Random brewing.

Waxed 500 shared by Marcus. Pours dark brn/blk with a slight, transient dark tan head. Aroma of rum, whiskey and pretty dark malt. Wonderful aroma. Body is moderately full. Flavor is rum, chocolate, whiskey, and a touch of musty, astringent oak. This is difficult to describe adequately. All those flavors seem more than the sum of their parts. Very good ale.

Frothy head, pale and hazy. Has a mellow peach nose, not bad. There is a decent peach note, some husky malts. Decent.

500 c&c shared by Marcus. Pours somewhat ruddy copper with a transient white head. Aroma is wood/Pinot with a touch of red berry. Med body. Pretty dry. Flavor is somewhat yeasty, somewhat must wood, some red berry and not much bitter. Then bang! Surprisingly bitter in the finish. Mildly sour. Not exactly a lambic, but suggestive.

On tap at Farmhouse Fest 2018, pours a cloudy yellow with a medium white head. Aroma brings out lots of farty funk, with subdued tart peaches. Flavour is all funk, with plenty of barnyard funk, some yeast, and light oak. Funky and dry, with a bit of astringency. Good stuff.

Waxed bottle shared by Marcus. Pours dark copper with a slight tan head. Aroma of toffee/light treacle/brown sugar. Full bodied. Flavor is brown sugar with some red berry hints; a little or maybe more than that oak astringency. Rye whiskey. There’s a spiciness which I put down to the rye.
