Description
When we started this company, our goal was to keep it as straightforward as possible: to craft flavors and experiences that the people of Maine hadn’t had before, and serve them as fresh as possible. Over the years, as the business has grown, we are now able to share our beers with people in other areas – regionally, nationally, and internationally – but Maine always comes first. We strive to take care of those things closest to us, and let that radiate outward: our staff, our processes for making beer, our tap rooms and loyal customers, and the surrounding communities that support us. Everything we do is in support of these things, we are nothing without them.

Draught at Row 34, 5/3/17.
Dark ebony-mahogany body of undetermined clarity. Tan head atop is gone almost instantly.
Fudge and whiskey vie for dominance, initially, as vanilla, maple-infused char and caramel enter the mix. It seems very, very malty to the point of indicating it’s going to be a sugar/syrup bomb. Even before the aroma ends, I get a huge blast of toasted oak that manages to one-up even the large amounts of fudge and whiskey here. Jesus...
Sure enough, the mouth contains massive amounts of sweet, underattenuated, fudge-like character from massive amounts of base malts mixing with the various dark ones. There are some brief interludes of spicy whiskey and light char but the loose, low carbonation further exacerbates the syrupy, sugary feel to this and it becomes a chore to drink almost immediately.
